Uber Fires 400 People
Uber has decided to fire about 400 people from their marketing team.
The ride-sharing company believes the reason they have not been profitable is due to very costly marketing campaigns geared towards attracting more Uber riders. It sounds like the promotions were so costly that Uber decided to fire 400 people from the marketing team.
In June 2019, Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi decided to combine the communications, policy and marketing teams. The reason to combine the teams was behind the idea of centralizing marketing for the company going forward.
It has been reported that Uber is currently losing about $0.58 per ride. Uber is still searching for the right strategy to get the company to profitability.
